Turkey Thigh Roast Cooking Instructions

HANDLING

  • Keep frozen until ready to use.
  • Do not remove bag for thawing or cooking.
  • Roast may be cooked from either frozen or thawed state.

THAWING

  • Refrigerator: 1-2 days (5-6 hrs/lb).
  • Running water: Put under COLD running water for 4-5 hours (60 min/lb).

ROASTING (Conventional or convection oven)

  • DO NOT REMOVE BAG FROM ROAST!
  • Puncture bag in two places to allow for escaping steam.
  • Place in shallow pan.
  • Roast until the center reaches 165°F.  Approximate cooking times are as follows (shown in hours):
From Thaw From Frozen
Conventional (325°F)  2 1/2 – 3  3 1/2 – 4
Convection (300°F)  2 – 2 1/2  3 – 3 1/2

SLICING TIPS

  • Let Roast stand 20 -30 minutes before carving.
  • Drain juices from bag (CAUTION:HOT!).
  • Remove bag from roast.
  • Carve crosswise into slices of desired thickness.
